"Paperclips" Movie and Trip to Holocaust Museum in Whitwell June 8 and 9 - and Foster Falls

On Saturday, June 8 at 6pm we're going to show the award winning movie "Paperclips", which is a heart-moving documentary of a middle school project that took place in the nearby town of Whitwell, in the Sequatchie Valley, and the unforeseen and beautiful results of that memorable school project.

The next day, Sunday, after church, we're actually going to go to the town of Whitwell to visit the Holocaust museum! We'll stop in Monteagle on the way for a quick lunch. The town of Whitwell is about an hour from Cowan, and on the way back, for those who wish to do so, we'll stop at the Foster Falls Natural Area for a short hike for those who want to hike, and a nice stroll to the overlook for those who just want to take it easy. There are two trails at Foster Falls: one that goes to the bottom of the falls (you'll need strong knees and ankles for this one), and the Fiery Gizzard Trail that comes out over the top of the falls as it ends after its 13 mile course from Tracy City. One can walk just a little bit of the Fiery Gizzard Trail to enjoy the views out from the top of the waterfall and along the beautiful Fiery Gizzard Creek.

We are very blessed here in the South Cumberland and Eastern Highland to be so close to so much natural beauty. How doubly blessed we are to experiance, through the documentary "Paperclips", the labors of love that have been a part of the people who call this part of Tennessee home!
