One Great Hour of Sharing

Both of our denominations, United Methodist and Presbyterian Church(USA), ask their congregations to take a special offering at Easter, an offering that both call: One Great Hour of Sharing.

These offerings support the mission of our denominations to help people who suffer from disasters like tornadoes or hurricanes or floods; to assist people who are hungry by providing food aid and promoting better programs of agriculture; to provide resources to support the self-development of communities.

Wings of Hope Ministry to Widows in Franklin County

As a part of Wings of Hope Ministry, the widows in Franklin County met in January and February to celebrate the lives of our elders, those in their nineties and beyond, and to fellowship and play games, including bingo with prizes.  Our times together in 2013 have been celebrative and fun!  

Lecture at Goshen C.P. Church: A Teacher's Prayer

Tammy Mentzer Brown, author of the book "A Teacher's Prayer", will speak at Goshen C.P. Church on Saturday, March 9th, at 7:00 p.m. When a young girl's life is turned upside down at the age of four, it sets the stage for a life that only the grace of God could right. At home, school and even at church, she would suffer some of the most common and often unspoken abuses that still occur in our society today.

John Bible Study Resumes February 14

The Thursday evening Bible Study will
soon resume, beginning Thursday, Feb.14.
You are invited; please consider joining!

The study leader will be Sherwood Ebey.

The study, appropriate for the Season of Lent,
will cover the Gospel of John’s account of the
last supper, Jesus’ trial and passion, and His
resurrection appearances.

We will meet from 6:30 to 8 pm on the six
Thursday evenings from February 14 to March 21,

Pastor Portraits Reframed and Remounted

When the church celebrated its homecoming last year, we reframed all the pastor portraits and acquired a couple that we did not have at the time.  Bob Kunkle has remounted the portraits in a new location in the Fellowship Hall.  Thanks for the work, Bob!  Well done.

Kicking off Bible Study of Book of Job

Starting January 5, Andy Gay will be leading the Adult Sunday School in a study of the book of Job.  This study will run parallel to a sermon series that Andy will be preaching on Job.
