Here are some shots along the Stone Door trail taken by our crew on the April hike.

Stone Door Hike Next Sunday

We're switching the hike we had originally planned next Sunday on the Shake Rag Trail in Sewanee.  We're going to the Stone Door overlooking Savage Gulf instead.  We're making this switch due to the fact that all the blooming plants have come early this year, and, although the Lord blessed Shake Rag Hollow with a beautiful display of flowers this spring, they have, for the most part, come and gone.

Great Time in Chattanooga Last Sunday

After chowing down on tacos at the church our crew headed out for Chattanooga.  It was a fantastic, picture-perfect spring afternoon with lots of people out to enjoy the day.

Beautiful Day for a Walk at Old Stone Fort

It was a great day indeed, when we hit the trail - walking the 1.3 miles around the ancient ceremonial field along Indian mounds dating around 2,000 years old.  We caught some of the early wild flowers in our camera lenses, as well as some shots of the falls of the two forks of the Duck River as it is coming off the Highland Rim.

Next Sunday Outing to Old Stone Fort State Park, Manchester

We'll be leaving from the church at 2pm.  We will take the trail along the rivers and the Indian mound that is a circular walk of about 1.3 miles.   The hiking is moderate to easy.  People can cut back to the visitor's center at many points of the trail by walking through

Lake Cheston Amble Sunday November 13

Ready for a nice easy amble?  Next Sunday (November 13) we'll leave the church at 2pm to go up the mountain to Lake Cheston in Sewanee.  Now that we're on the new time, the afternoon hours are pretty short - but then again, if the weather cooperates, we'll have that late low sun that's so nice for color.

Walking To The Walls Of Jericho

Nine miles roundtrip.

At least that’s what we’re telling people.

A bright orange sign reads "recommended hikers be in good physical shape."

An excursion to the Walls of Jericho is a frequented journey made by many in Franklin County and surrounding areas.

Picnic Fun Report

Yep, it was a beautiful day. Big crowd. Pickin' and grinnin' and singing. Hiking and walking for the hikers and walkers. Lots of sitting around for the sit-arounders. Food. More food.
